Spec-FREAKIN-tacular. This is my favorite restaurant in Tennessee. My favorite thing here is the shrimp burrito, but I haven't had anything yet that wasn't great. The prices are almost too cheap, as in, I often wonder how they stay in business. But the answer is simple. Once you eat here, if you like Mexican food, you will want to come back. Their ingredients are fresh and top quality, nothing is fake or frozen or sub-par. It takes good ingredients to make great food, and real Mexicans to make real Mexican food. The people who own and operate this place are a family of real Mexicans, although they came here from Texas. They are good, hardworking people who love their customers. You don't find people this nice everywhere. White House is lucky to have a place like Lalo's. I'm eating here as I write this review, and I hope I have time to come back again soon!

They have a buffet on Sunday's that comes with dessert and chef made Bananas Fosters. The buffet price and selection were great and the food was perfect for small kids as well. Keep in mind that they close at 3pm on Sunday. We drive for 40 mins to get here, that is how much we like the food. The owners are very nice and hard working. If you are in the area or even just looking for a new place to try, this restaurant is worth the drive.

I'll never figure out why this place is not packed! Best fresh Mexican food--almost street food style. Everything tastes fresh. Nothing canned here. The chicken tacos and shrimp quesadillas are two of our favorites. Be sure to ask for horchata to drink. Service is ultra casual, but better than many more formal sit down places. The chips are thin, light and house made. We love Lalos and highly recommend them.

The guac is so fresh as are the chips. Very reminiscent of SoCal. This will be a place we will come to again, but will avoid the "chicken" at all costs.

Went there last night. It was my first time there and I love about 10 minutes away. So wanted to try out the first Mexican restaurant in White House. We walked in and the lady that owns the place greeted us and talked about the favorites. I ended up ordering the Fajitas, steak & chicken. Omg the prices there are so much cheaper than in Nashville! I couldn't get over it! Sat down and got chips and salsa! Then not even 5 minutes went bye and got my food! The owner was very polite and friendly! I highly recommend you check this place out for yourself! I will be back!!!

Great fresh food! Love the chicken burritos, pico de gallo and refried beans. The buffet is awesome anytime we are off on Sunday we try to go! Owners are super friendly.

Great food and low prices. We have yet to be disappointed. They have the same food if not better then the other larger Mexican restaurants in town and they are cheaper!

Who knew there was such a thing as melt-in-your-mouth chips? Getting the usual fast food on road trips sucks, but I saw the reviews for this place just as we were driving through town and had Google route us there. The strip mall it's tucked in is easy to miss, and the restaurant itself is rather unassuming. You order at the counter from their extensive menu of fajitas, quesadillas, tortas, burritos, and so on and if you dine in they bring you free very fresh chips and salsa. The woman working was awesome and friendly and the food came out super fast. My carne asada quesadilla was great and super filling, likewise with my companion's chicken fajitas. Skip Wendy's and come here, you're supporting a local business and the food was simple, classic and CHEAP.

I have to second the first review. My husband and I stumbled across this place earlier in the summer. We have eaten there on a regular basis. I always tend to get the same thing....Shrimp Taco's. They are always fresh, flavorful and they grill them versus Fried. I tried the Chrizo combo and now I am torn....Chrizo Combo....or Shrimp Taco? Another thing we really like about this place is the service. White House is NOT known for stellar service. Lalo's is unique, in that each time we have gone in regardless of who is working....they are friendly and attentive. Gee...what a concept....a business that really appreciates it's customers! Thank goodness this place has opened up!

We come here for the breakfast burritos. Such a great value! We can both get out for 10 bucks. The owner is so friendly, and even clears tables and sweeps floors. Love giving business to hard working people who value customers.

Ordered a basic combo - Bean Burrito with a Cheese Enchilada / beans and rice. Really, really bad - reminiscent of a frozen mexican entree from the grocery. Meal was bland and dry - definitely not worth the $7.99. Driving half a mile down the road to one of the other Mexican restaurants is recommended. On the plus side - staff is very friendly and the store front itself is very clean and pleasant.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
